Sixth Title Defense for Adesanya
This will be Israel’s sixth title defense as he will be fighting Jared Cannonier on Saturday night. Jared Cannonier is an American mixed martial artist currently fighting in the UFC. Cannonier is the #2 ranked fighter in the UFC middleweight division. Coming off a KO victory against Derek Brunson, holding a record of 15-5.
Israel stands at 6’4 and has a reach of 80 inches. This gives the advantage to Adesanya as he towers over his opponent. Cannonier is 38 years old and is 5’9 with a reach of 77.5in. Being a veteran of the sport Jared has experience fighting heavyweight fighters. Cannonier is known as “the Killa gorilla”, and with intense heavy strikes he KOs his opponents. Cannonier was interviewed recently and is calm coming up to his next fight with Israel. On the other side, Adesanya is ready to make an example out of his opponent.
My predictions for UFC 276 are as follows, I believe Adesanya will knock Cannonier out in round 2 of this fight. Securing the 6th title defense of his Middleweight title. Despite Cannonier’s powerful strikes, I believe he’ll be unable to properly land a clean blow. The versatility of the champ is undeniable. He’s able to move well on the ground and holds immense striking power in his fist and kicks. I’m sure we can expect an impressive showing from Adesanya as he is a man on a mission.
The End of a Trilogy
Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will see each other for the third time in the ring. Two and a half years ago back in 2019 was the first time Max Holloway faced off against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245. The judges ruled Alexander the victor after 5 rounds of fighting. This happened again just a year later at UFC 251 as Volkanovski won by decision a second time. Holloway looks to get revenge on Saturday night for these previous defeats. That’s if the Australian featherweight champion allows it. Alexander Volkanovski has remained undefeated since last fighting Jung Chang-Sung also known as the Korean Zombie. Volkanovski is 24-1 only losing to Corey Nelson back in 2013.
UFC 276 Prediction
I predict that Volkanovski will retain his title and continue to be the Featherweight champion. Closing the door to this trilogy adds to the history of the UFC. Alexander Volkanovski has displayed UFC excellence continuously throughout his professional career. I believe he is prepared to finish this story and put an end to Max Holloway.
