Stacked MMA Events to End the Year

MMA

Bellator 288 was last week in Chicago, where Vadim Nemkov defended his belt against Corey Anderson and Patricky Pitbull lost his belt to Usman Nurmagamedov. The UFC held a fight night at the APEX the next night, where the main event fell through mid-show. Putting the event of last week in the rearview mirror, the MMA world looks forward. We look towards the end of the 2022 year. There is still plenty of action in the little month plus left of the year.

PFL 10

The Professional Fighters League had a pretty solid 2022. The promotion had a step up in quality and attention this season, and their World Championship pay-per-view event on November 25 is going to be a great way to close out the season. PFL 10 is being held at the Hulu Theater in New York City, and the main card will start at 8 PM ET on ESPN+ PPV. Though there is a fair reason for criticism concerning the steep price of $49.99, I believe there is enough entertainment value on the card to warrant the price.

Bellator 289

Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello are doing a great job of selling the main event of Bellator 289, which will take place Friday, December 9, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Stots and Sabatello have had numerous moments of public discourse leading up to the MMA event as recently as last Friday night at Bellator 288, and the two genuinely seem to hate each other. Any true MMA fan will be waiting in anticipation for that fight when the 9th rolls around.

UFC 282

The rematch of Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira has been anticipated since Prochazka submitted Teixeira back in June. The first time these two met, it resulted in what many claims to be a top 3 fight in UFC history. Throw in other stars like Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev and Pimblett vs. Gordon, and this card is guaranteed to be a good one. This card will go down in the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, NV, on December 10, with the main card set to start at 10 PM ET.

Bellator vs. Rizin

Everyone loves crossovers. That’s why the MCU is so successful. Bellator vs. Rizin is the MMA event I’m most excited for as the two promotions send their biggest stars to do battle on New Year’s Eve at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan. Kleber Koike vs. Patricio Pitbull is going to be nothing short of legendary, while AJ McKee vs. Roberto Satoshi Souza also guarantees to entertain. Every MMA fan should be hoping for the success of this event as more crossover promotions in the future would be awesome, and this is the perfect first step.
