The UFC will be hosting another fight night on ESPN this weekend and the card looks spectacular. The main event will be a lightweight battle between two top contenders, Rafael Dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev. These fighters are ranked seventh and tenth respectfully in the lightweight division.
I’m going to give you a breakdown of the main event as well as a brief overview of my favorite play of the week: My Wednesday MMA Parlay. You can find last week’s on Sports 2.0 Bets YouTube channel, and keep reading and watching for more in the future.

Main Event: Fiziev vs RDA
Rafael Dos Anjos is a former UFC lightweight Champion, reigning for over a year in 2015 and 2016. Despite being a veteran of the game and a challenger at multiple weight classes, RDA had struggled a bit before his last two fights. He has only two finishes in the past six years and has had 12 fights in the same time period since losing his belt, and is six and six in those fights.
After being finished in his first UFC fight, Rafael Fiziev has bounced back incredibly. Since that fight he has won five fights in just over two years, two of those wins being knockout victories. Fiziev has defeated Bobby Green, Renato Moicano, Marc Diakese, and Brad Riddell.
Fiziev’s dominance over the past few years is not a mistake. He throws all of his strikes with extremely bad intentions, has incredible flexibility and can dodge body kicks in a way you’ve never seen before. I think Fiziev will handle RDA easily, and possibly even finish him. The only worry is the ground game, but I don’t expect RDA to get it there.
Prediction: Fiziev to win by KO/TKO +225
Best Bet: Fiziev to win straight up -200
MMA Parlay of the Week
Recently I’ve been putting my MMA betting expertise to the test by putting together strategic and focused parlays on each UFC card. This weekend will be my parlay with the least legs so far, making it the most likely to hit.
This week I am looking at three bets to string together for a parlay; Rafael Fiziev, Jamie Mullarkey, and Caio Borralho. Fiziev, as I stated before, is a -200 favorite against RDA. I am very interested in seeing this fight, but I expect Fiziev to win fairly dominantly.
Jamie Mullarkey will be fighting against an old and worn out Michael Johnson. MJ has been known in his career to win fights against great fighters and lose fights to bad fighters. While Mullarkey is somewhere in the middle of that scale, I believe his power will be too much for Johnson and he will get finished in the second round.
Finally, the last leg of this parlay is going to be Caio Borralho, who is fighting Armen Petrosyan in the Co-Main event. Borralho has made a name for himself on Dana White’s Contender Series, which is where I know him from. Watching his fights on DWCS was like watching a bomb go off in an empty desert; destructive but satisfying.
Borralho has great power, speed, and accuracy, and is taking on a phenomenal fighter and grappler in Armen Petrosyan. Petrosyan’s last fight was against another Brazilian in which he won a controversial decision. I expect Borralho to exact revenge for his Brazilian brother and defeat Petrosyan by decision.
These lines are heavy. All three fighters that I have chosen are -200 or higher, and I understand if you don’t like it. I often stay away from “chalky” plays, especially in MMA, but I’m really feeling this one. All three fighters are big punchers and, with the exception of Mullarkey (2-1 in his last three), all are on winning streaks right now.
